(All kidding aside, do we really want the government penalizing people not just for their actions, but also for their intentions? The penalties for murder, aggravated assault, arson, etc. are already severe. Aren’t those penalties enough? Do we really want to go down the Orwellian path of giving the government the power to punish people not only for their actions, but also for their motivations?)
