Yogi Berra, one of the most beloved figures in American baseball, died last night at age 90. The Hall of Fame catcher is remembered as much for his humor as for his outstanding baseball skills. Here are a few favorite Berra quotes:
“Nobody goes there anymore; it’s too crowded.”
“You can observe a lot just by watching.”
“Baseball is 90% mental; the other half is physical.”
“If you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
“In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.”
“Why buy good luggage? You only use it when you travel.”
“It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.”
. . . and . . .
“I never said most of the things I said.”
Yogi will be missed. If you have some time, the Yankees have a very nice feature on Yogi. It’d go well with morning coffee.
